Beverage ABV Calculator
Estimate fermentation ABV from gravity readings or calculate a multi-component beverage blend with proof, attenuation, formulas and measurement limits.
What Is the Beverage ABV Calculator?
The Beverage ABV Calculator has separate fermentation and multi-component blend workspaces. Fermentation mode accepts specific-gravity or degrees-Plato readings, reports the measured change, apparent attenuation, estimated alcohol by volume and US proof and keeps its formula visible. Blend mode uses each component's volume and measured ABV to calculate total batch volume, pure alcohol and weighted blend strength.
How It Works
Choose Fermentation or Blend. For fermentation, enter original and final readings with the matching scale and batch volume; for a blend, enter each component's measured volume and ABV. Review the traceable intermediate values, proof and measurement limitations, then export the worksheet.
When to Use It
Use it for beverage-production estimates and batch documentation. Hydrometer temperature, dissolved carbon dioxide, calibration, sugar or solids and real volume contraction can affect the result, so measure the finished product when legal, tax, labeling or safety accuracy matters.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Is Gravity-Based ABV Exact?
- No. It is an estimate from the change between original and final readings. Instrument calibration, temperature correction and sample condition matter.
- Is This The Same As Alcohol Dilution?
- No. Single-stock target dilution is already covered by BrowserTools's Dilution Calculator. Blend mode here calculates the weighted strength of several measured beverage components.
