AI Image Upscaler · Local 2× Enhancement
Enhance small images with genuine local Swin2SR super-resolution, compare before and after, and download PNG, JPEG or WebP.
What Is the AI Image Upscaler · Local 2× Enhancement?
A genuine learned super-resolution workspace, separate from ordinary image resizing. It runs the Swin2SR lightweight 2× model locally using Transformers.js and overlapping tiles to bound memory. It does not upload your image to an AI provider.
How It Works
Choose an image up to 1024 × 1024, select a background for transparent areas and press Start local AI. The first run downloads model files from Hugging Face. Watch tile progress, compare the result and export PNG, JPEG or WebP. Cancel stops the worker.
When to Use It
Enlarge small graphics and photos where a learned detail estimate is useful. Keep the original, especially when accurate lettering, identity or evidentiary detail matters.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Is this really AI or just resizing?
- It uses the Swin2SR lightweight super-resolution neural model at a fixed 2× scale. Browser interpolation is not presented as AI.
- Can it recover authentic missing detail?
- No. Detail is estimated and can be incorrect, especially text and faces. It is not forensic reconstruction or identity verification.
- What downloads or leaves my browser?
- Starting downloads model/configuration files from Hugging Face; that service sees normal connection metadata. Your image is processed locally. Input limit is 20 MB and 1024 × 1024 pixels. Transparency is composited onto your selected background.
