What Is the Audio Merger & Sequence Builder?

The Audio Merger & Sequence Builder is an ordered local assembly timeline for up to twelve browser-decodable clips. Files can be dragged or moved into sequence, renamed and gain-staged individually. The renderer resamples everything to a chosen rate, maps channels to mono or stereo, inserts either a precise gap or equal-power crossfade, protects the completed sample peak, and exports one WAV with CSV, JSON or PDF cue records.

How It Works

Add clips in any supported source format, drag the numbered rows or use the move buttons to set their order, and apply per-clip gain. Choose 44.1, 48 or 96 kHz; mono or stereo; a gap or crossfade; and a WAV depth. Render a preview, inspect the sequence, then download the merged audio and cue sheet.

When to Use It

Use it for sequential voice notes, podcast segments, interview selects, music cues, announcements and rough assembly where clips play one after another. It is not a multitrack mixer: it does not time-align overlapping performances, preserve source metadata or replace phase-coherent sample-rate conversion and mastering in a DAW.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are The Files Uploaded?
No. Source decoding, resampling, channel mapping, crossfades, WAV encoding and reports all run in the current browser session.
Can Clips Overlap?
Adjacent clips can overlap through the global equal-power crossfade. Arbitrary multitrack placement is intentionally outside this sequential merger; use a digital audio workstation when several clips must overlap independently.
Why Can A Source Format Fail To Open?
The browser provides the decoder, so codec support varies by browser and operating system. WAV, MP3 and common AAC/M4A files are broadly available; less common codecs may need conversion first.
