Audio Trimmer & Waveform Editor
Trim audio, remove long pauses with adjustable silence detection, preview edits, apply fades and export WAV audio with edit records.
What Is the Audio Trimmer & Waveform Editor?
The Audio Trimmer & Waveform Editor is a private local edit desk for music, interviews, podcasts, voiceover and production audio. Its draggable waveform selection stays synchronized with exact time fields, zoom and keyboard controls. The renderer can preserve the original channel layout, isolate left or right, mix to mono or create stereo, then apply fades and optional peak normalization before writing a standards-based PCM or floating-point WAV.
How It Works
Drop a format your browser can decode, drag the selection handles or enter exact start and end times, then audition the source or selected range. Choose channel handling, fades, normalization and WAV depth. Export the edited WAV plus an edit JSON, cue CSV or PDF cue sheet when another person needs to reproduce or review the cut.
When to Use It
Use it for clean selects, rough interview pulls, podcast excerpts, voiceover pickups, rehearsal tracks and handoffs that benefit from a documented in and out point. It does not repair clipped audio, restore data removed by a lossy source, perform spectral editing or export compressed codecs; use Audio Converter after the WAV export when another delivery format is required.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Does It Upload Audio?
- No. The selected file is decoded and rendered in the current browser. The 250 MB limit protects the tab from excessive in-memory processing.
- Is The WAV Export Lossless?
- WAV avoids another perceptual codec pass. It cannot restore information already removed from MP3, AAC, Opus or another compressed source, and integer bit-depth conversion can still quantize the decoded signal.
