What Is the Subtitle Converter & Caption File Maker?

The Subtitle Converter & Caption File Maker parses SRT, WebVTT and SBV, blocks export when any source block would lose words, and reports exact parsed-dialogue preservation. Its cue editor can add, edit, split, merge, delete, sort, wrap and repair overlaps while a local audio/video reviewer helps confirm names and spelling.

How It Works

Open a caption file or create a track. Correct any blocked source blocks, edit cues in the indexed workspace, optionally load local media for comparison, then choose SRT, WebVTT, SBV, transcript, CSV or JSON output. Export is enabled only when every parsed dialogue word reaches the output in order.

When to Use It

Use it to transcribe audio or video locally, then review, author, repair or convert timed text. Speech recognition can make mistakes; conversion checks do not prove that the transcript matches the recording.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are Subtitle Files Uploaded?
No. Reading, parsing, conversion and download happen in the current browser tab.
Can It Fix Individual Mistimed Captions?
The timing shift applies to the entire track. Edit individual cue timestamps in the source editor when only some captions are out of sync.
Does It Preserve WebVTT Styling?
No. It preserves standard cue times and text, but not advanced regions, style blocks or cue-position settings.
