Flatten PDF
Bake visible page content into a new image-based PDF with selectable resolution and an explicit data-loss warning.
What Is the Flatten PDF?
Flatten PDF renders every visible page into a new image-based PDF. That bakes forms, annotations, layers and visible marks into the page appearance while removing selectable text, links, interactive controls and hidden PDF structure.
How It Works
Load an unlocked PDF, choose 96, 144 or 192 DPI, review the page set and download the flattened copy. Keep the source because flattening is intentionally destructive and cannot be reversed.
When to Use It
Use it when a recipient needs a visually stable, non-interactive copy of a completed form or annotated document. It is not a substitute for secure redaction, encryption or a certified archival workflow.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Does Flattening Secure The PDF?
- No. It removes interactivity and selectable text but does not encrypt the file, restrict copying, prove authorship or create access control.
- Will The File Get Larger?
- It can. Every page becomes an image; higher DPI improves print detail but increases memory use and output size.
- Does It Remove Hidden Text?
- The rebuilt output contains only rendered page images, but you must visually confirm every page. Do not use this as a substitute for a proper redaction process.
