Shot List & Storyboard Studio
Plan scenes and shots with reference frames, camera language, timing, status, reordering and production-ready exports.
What Is the Shot List & Storyboard Studio?
A production planning workspace that connects a concise shot list to a visual storyboard grid. Each shot carries scene and shot identifiers, framing, movement, lens, duration, status, notes and an optional local reference frame.
How It Works
Name the production, add shots, edit the selected shot in the inspector and add reference images. Drag shots or use Up and Down, switch between board and list views, search and filter status, and record location, setup and audio notes. Save locally or export editable JSON, CSV, XLSX, text PDF or an image-based storyboard PDF.
When to Use It
Plan commercials, social videos, interviews, short films, documentaries or pickup days. It complements the call-sheet, schedule and continuity tools without pretending to replace production judgment.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Are reference frames uploaded?
- No. Images remain in this browser. They are included in local project saves, editable JSON backups and storyboard PDF exports when you choose those actions. Large projects may exceed browser storage; download JSON for a portable backup.
- Which export can be reopened?
- JSON is the editable project format. CSV and XLSX are tabular handoff files, while PDF is a reading copy.
- Does it calculate camera settings?
- No. Lens labels and duration are planning fields. Confirm exposure, sensor coverage, frame rate, stabilization and equipment availability with the camera department.
