eDPI Calculator

Calculate effective DPI and preserve the same in-game sensitivity when changing mouse DPI.

What Is the eDPI Calculator?

The eDPI Calculator multiplies mouse DPI by the in-game sensitivity value and calculates the matching sensitivity for a new DPI. A reference table shows equivalent settings at common DPI levels and verifies that each one retains the same eDPI.

How It Works

Enter the current mouse DPI and in-game sensitivity, then enter a new DPI. Copy the calculated sensitivity into the same game's settings. Use the table when comparing several hardware DPI choices.

When to Use It

Use it to change mouse DPI without changing the effective sensitivity inside one game. eDPI is not a universal cross-game distance measurement because games can use different yaw constants, field-of-view rules and sensitivity scales.

Frequently Asked Questions

How Is eDPI Calculated?
Multiply mouse DPI by the numeric in-game sensitivity. For example, 800 DPI at 0.5 sensitivity equals 400 eDPI.
Can I Compare eDPI Between Different Games?
Not reliably. The same eDPI can produce a different turn distance when two games use different input and camera formulas.
Does Windows Pointer Speed Affect It?
Some games use raw mouse input and bypass desktop acceleration; others may not. Check the game's input documentation and keep acceleration settings consistent.
