What Is the Grade Calculator?

The Grade Calculator computes your current weighted average and solves the average required across ungraded assignments to reach a desired final course grade. Each row can represent an assignment, exam or course category, and the calculator keeps graded and remaining weight separate.

How It Works

Enter every score and its share of the course grade. Leave future assignments or the final exam score blank while entering their weights. The current grade uses only completed work; the target panel applies the desired course grade to all planned weight and solves the average needed across the blank rows.

When to Use It

Use it to check a weighted course average, model a final exam, plan several remaining assignments or determine whether a target grade is still reachable. Confirm that the weights match the syllabus and account for extra credit or dropped scores separately.

Frequently Asked Questions

How Do I Calculate The Grade Needed On My Final?
Enter completed work with scores and weights, add the final exam with its weight, leave its score blank and set your desired course grade. The required-average result is the final score needed when the final is the only blank row.
What If Several Scores Are Blank?
The result is the same average required across the combined weight of all blank-score rows. You can fill them in one at a time as grades arrive.
Why Does The Required Score Exceed 100%?
At the entered weights and completed scores, the target is not reachable through ordinary remaining points. Extra credit, replacement rules or a different syllabus policy would be needed.
