Molar Mass Calculator
Parse nested chemical formulas and hydrates into an auditable element-by-element molar-mass and composition ledger.
What Is the Molar Mass Calculator?
The Molar Mass Calculator parses element symbols, subscripts, nested parentheses or brackets and hydrate separators. It resolves every element against the site's IUPAC-based periodic-table data, then reports atomic counts, individual mass contributions and mass percentages.
How It Works
Enter a formula such as Ca(OH)2, Al2(SO4)3 or CuSO4·5H2O. Review the composition ledger, then copy or export the report as text, CSV or PDF.
When to Use It
Use it for solution preparation, formula checking, chemistry homework and composition analysis before moving into stoichiometric quantities.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Does It Support Parentheses And Hydrates?
- Yes. Nested groups, square brackets and coefficients after hydrate separators are supported.
- Which Atomic Weights Are Used?
- The calculation uses the same IUPAC-based atomic-weight dataset as BrowserTools's Interactive Periodic Table.
