Pomodoro Timer
Run focus sessions and breaks with configurable lengths, rounds, auto-start, chimes and a live page-title countdown.
What Is the Pomodoro Timer?
The Pomodoro Timer runs the classic focus method: timed work sessions separated by short breaks, with a long break after a set number of rounds. Focus, short-break and long-break lengths, the round count, auto-start and the end-of-phase chime are all configurable and persist in your browser.
How It Works
Press Start to begin a focus round. The timer advances through breaks automatically or waits for you, counts completed focus sessions, shows the countdown in the page title while running and stays accurate in background tabs.
When to Use It
Use it for studying, writing, deep work or any task where fixed sprints with deliberate breaks keep attention fresh.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Why 25 Minutes?
- The traditional Pomodoro is 25 minutes of work with 5-minute breaks, but the research-backed part is the rhythm of focused sprints and real breaks. Adjust the lengths to what you sustain best.
- Does It Keep Time In Background Tabs?
- Yes. The countdown is computed from a wall-clock end time rather than counting ticks, so throttled tabs stay accurate.
