What Is the Social Card Preview?

The Social Card Preview shows how a shared link will render as a card on X, Facebook and LinkedIn. Enter the page title, description and URL, drop in the card image, and all three previews update live — with checks on the image's size and aspect ratio and character guidance for the title and description. A copy button produces the matching Open Graph and Twitter meta tags. Everything renders locally; nothing is fetched from or posted to any platform.

How It Works

Fill in the card content and add your 1200×630 image. Watch the three platform previews for truncation — each platform clamps titles and descriptions differently — then copy the generated meta tags into your page's head and replace the placeholder image URL with the real one after uploading it.

When to Use It

Use it before publishing a page, launching a campaign or sharing a big announcement, so the card that shows up in feeds is the one you designed rather than a cropped surprise.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why Do The Previews Differ From The Real Platforms Sometimes?
Platforms adjust card layouts over time and by placement. The previews follow the current common layouts closely enough to catch truncation and cropping issues, which is what matters before you publish.
What Image Size Should I Use?
1200×630 pixels at a 1.91:1 ratio is the safe standard for large cards on all three platforms. The tool flags images smaller than 600×315 or far from that ratio.
Why Is The Copied og:image A Placeholder?
The tool never uploads anything, so it cannot know your image's final URL. Upload the image to your site, then replace the placeholder path in the copied tags.
Do I Need Both Open Graph And Twitter Tags?
Open Graph covers Facebook, LinkedIn and most apps; X reads Twitter tags first and falls back to Open Graph. Shipping both, as the copy button does, is the reliable setup.
