High Yield Savings Calculator & Growth Planner
Project a high-yield savings balance month by month, compare reinvested and paid-out interest, and export a full growth ledger.
What Is the High Yield Savings Calculator & Growth Planner?
A dedicated high-yield savings account planner with monthly and annual ledgers. It converts the advertised APY to its equivalent monthly rate, models deposits and withdrawals in a transparent order, and separates reinvested interest from interest paid outside the account.
How It Works
Enter the opening balance, APY, plan length, monthly activity and deposit timing. Leave monthly interest reinvestment on for normal compounding, or switch it off to see the interest as a separate payout that no longer grows. Review monthly or annual rows and export CSV, XLSX, JSON or PDF.
When to Use It
Use it to compare savings scenarios, forecast an emergency fund or understand how monthly contributions interact with a variable advertised APY. It is an estimate, not a bank quote or investment recommendation.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Should monthly interest be added to the balance?
- Usually yes. Savings interest posted to the account becomes part of the balance and earns future interest. The monthly compounding checkbox models that behavior. APY already incorporates compounding, so the calculator converts APY to a monthly equivalent rather than compounding the quoted APY again.
- Why might my bank statement differ?
- Banks can use daily balances, different posting dates, variable APYs, minimum-balance rules, fees and account-specific rounding. Taxes are not deducted here. Use the bank's disclosures and statements for exact figures.
- What does deposit timing change?
- A contribution made at the start of a month earns that month's modeled interest. An end-of-month contribution begins earning in the next modeled month.
