What Is the Secure Passphrase Generator?

The Secure Passphrase Generator selects words with the browser's cryptographic random-number source. It supports a large local English dictionary, a compact familiar list and custom words, plus word-length filters, exclusions, case rules, separators, number suffixes and symbols.

How It Works

Choose a word source and generation rules, select a transparent guess-rate model, then generate. The security panel reports selection entropy, search-space size, a strength rating and expected midpoint guess time under the stated attacker assumptions.

When to Use It

Use it for memorable master passwords, encrypted archives, Wi-Fi credentials and recovery secrets when the destination accepts long passphrases. Store important credentials in a password manager and avoid reuse.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is The Guess-Time Estimate A Guarantee?
No. It assumes an attacker knows the generator, selected word list and every enabled rule. Password hashing, rate limits, credential leaks and reuse can change the real risk.
Does The Word List Leave My Device?
No. The large dictionary ships with BrowserTools and loads from the same local site. Generation and scoring happen in the browser.
