What Is the Wallpaper Calculator?

The Wallpaper Calculator estimates rolls the way installers cut them: it works out the strip length your wall height needs (rounded up to full pattern repeats), how many strips a roll yields, how many strips your walls need, and adds a waste allowance. It supports US (feet/inches) and metric (meters/centimeters) inputs.

How It Works

Add up the width of every wall you're papering, enter the wall height, then the roll's width and length from the label plus the pattern repeat. Adjust the waste allowance for tricky rooms.

When to Use It

Use it before ordering wallpaper so you buy enough from a single batch — running short means a second dye lot that may not match.

Frequently Asked Questions

Should I Subtract Doors And Windows?
Usually no — normal openings get absorbed by trimming and pattern matching. Subtract only very large glazed walls.
Why Round Up To Pattern Repeats?
Each strip must start at the same point in the motif to line up with its neighbor, so every strip is cut to a whole number of repeats.
