What Is the Video Resizer?

The Video Resizer creates an exact output canvas instead of treating resolution as an incidental compression option. Presets cover source size, 4K UHD, Full HD, HD, square and vertical delivery, with custom dimensions up to 33.2 megapixels. Fit preserves the complete frame and pads unused space with a chosen color; Fill preserves aspect ratio while cropping centered overflow. MP4/WebM, primary audio, quality, metadata and exact filter-receipt controls are included.

How It Works

Open a video, select or enter the target canvas, then choose Fit Entire Frame or Fill And Crop. Fit reveals a padding-color control; Fill covers the complete canvas without distortion. Review the planned dimensions and policy warning before the local re-encode.

When to Use It

Use it for platform delivery sizes, presentation canvases, square and vertical social versions, proxy resolutions or a predictable encoded frame size. Upscaling is allowed but cannot invent source detail and can consume substantial browser memory.

Frequently Asked Questions

What Is The Difference Between Fit And Fill?
Fit keeps every source pixel visible and may add padding. Fill covers every canvas pixel and removes centered overflow. Neither policy stretches the image.
Does Resizing Reduce File Size?
A smaller frame often produces a smaller file, but size is not guaranteed because content, quality, duration and audio also matter. Use Video Compressor for target-size planning.
Can It Make A Small Video Truly 4K?
It can create a 4K-sized frame, but interpolation cannot recreate detail that was not in the source.
