Video Trimmer
Set video in and out points, compare accurate re-encoding with fast keyframe cuts, retain or remove audio, and export locally.
What Is the Video Trimmer?
The Video Trimmer is a local clip-finishing desk with player-synchronized in and out controls, numeric and range inputs, an accurate re-encode path for MP4 or WebM, a fast stream-copy path, optional audio, metadata removal, output planning and a reproducible JSON receipt.
How It Works
Open a browser-readable source, use the player and Set In or Set Out controls to mark the range, then choose Accurate Re-encode or Fast Keyframe Cut. Review the duration and method warning before exporting. The first processing run downloads about 31 MB of FFmpeg WebAssembly.
When to Use It
Use it for selects, excerpts, review clips and rough editorial handoffs. Fast stream copies can begin on a nearby keyframe, while re-encoded cuts seek more accurately but can still shift slightly with variable-frame-rate material; neither mode claims guaranteed frame-perfect finishing.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Which Cut Method Should I Use?
- Use Accurate Re-encode when the visible boundary matters and Fast Keyframe Cut when speed and avoiding another encode matter more. Fast cuts commonly move to a nearby source keyframe.
- Does It Preserve Every Track?
- No. The focused output carries the primary video and optional audio. Subtitle, attachment and data tracks are intentionally excluded.
- Does The Source Leave The Device?
- No. FFmpeg WebAssembly runs in the browser after its runtime files download; the selected media remains local.
