What Is the PDF Editor?

The PDF Editor is a local page workspace for unlocked PDF files. It renders page thumbnails, lets you drag or use keyboard controls to reorder pages, rotate individual pages, mark pages for deletion, undo changes or restore the source order, and add positioned text annotations with a chosen page, size and color. Export rebuilds a valid PDF with the selected order, rotations and flattened annotation text.

How It Works

Import a PDF and use the page rail to select, reorder, rotate or remove pages. For text, choose the destination page, enter the annotation, set its position, size and color, then add it to the edit list. Review the operation summary, undo or reset when needed, and export the edited copy. The original file is never overwritten or uploaded.

When to Use It

Use it for page cleanup, packet assembly, correcting page orientation, removing unnecessary sheets or adding simple permanent labels. It is not a full word processor: existing PDF text, vector artwork, forms and complex page content are not reflowed for editing.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can It Edit Existing Words In A PDF?
No. Existing PDF content is preserved as positioned page graphics and text. This workspace reorganizes pages and adds new flattened text annotations; it does not rewrite original sentences or reflow layouts.
Are The Changes Permanent?
Only in the exported copy. The source file remains untouched, and annotations are flattened into the new PDF rather than left as editable comment objects.
Can It Open Password-Protected PDFs?
No. Remove the password with an authorized application before importing the file.
Does Editing Happen Online?
The interface runs in the browser, but document bytes stay local to your device and are not uploaded to BrowserTools.
