What Is the Fertilizer Calculator?

The Fertilizer Calculator converts a target rate for nitrogen, phosphate or potash into the pounds of a selected N–P–K product needed across a lawn, field or bed. It reports full bags, purchased weight, cost and the actual amount of all three labeled nutrients applied per 1,000 square feet.

How It Works

Enter the treatment area and desired nutrient rate from a current soil or agronomic recommendation. Enter the fertilizer grade, bag weight and price, then review the takeoff.

When to Use It

Use it for material planning after you have a valid nutrient recommendation and product label. Confirm local limits, timing, protective equipment and application instructions.

Frequently Asked Questions

What Do The Three Fertilizer Numbers Mean?
They are percentages by weight of nitrogen, phosphate and potash, conventionally shown as N–P2O5–K2O.
Does This Replace A Soil Test?
No. The calculator turns a target into product quantity; it does not determine what the soil or plants need.
